09.20.12 (Thursday night) - I bought new outdoor furniture for our porch. It came in a box. A big box.



09.19.12 (Wednesday night) - Walking Coco around the block. Night keeps closing in earlier and earlier.



09.19.12 (Wednesday afternoon) - After preschool, T and I brought Coco to the Shirlington dog park, which wore T out.





09.18.12 (Tuesday night) - Weird storm in the afternoon (super windy), so we arted at the table (spiderwebs and Halloween decorations), then walked around the block after the rain stopped - lots of broken branches everywhere.

09.17.12 (Monday night) - We got lucky.





09.17.12 (Monday morning) - When Julia says jump you better jump.



09.15.12 (Saturday) - Coco has taken over the couch.



09.14.12 (Friday night) - Cousin sleepover. They made a boat.





09.14.12 (Friday morning) - Cloud dough in the backyard.



09.13.12 (Thursday evening) - A boy and his dog.





09.13.12 (Thursday afternoon) - Painting with T and a one-armed P. It's important to always have your uniform on, in case of emergency.

09.13.12 (Thursday morning) - P walked to school with us, but she doesn't return til Friday.







09.12.12 (Wednesday afternoon) - P's whole class made her cards and her friend, P, bought her a Polly Pocket. She lit up like a glowstick and finally left the bed.





09.12.12 (Wednesday morning) - Coco's first walk to school. She made lots of new friends.





09.11.12 (Tuesday afternoon) - Recovery, with a new dog. F used the downtime to make her birthday list.



09.11.12 (Tuesday morning) - 6 am elbow surgery after spending most of the night in the ER, poor P.






09.10.12 (Monday morning) - Checking out the new American Trails exhibit at the National Zoo (two thumbs up)!

09.06.12 (Thursday afternoon) - Our town is a little safer now.





09.05.12 (Wednesday morning) - First day of "big boy" preschool (three day threes).







09.04.12 (Tuesday morning) - 1st day of preschool and first grade went off without a hitch. P wanted to walk to school by herself (we said no), so I guess she's ready for this.

T "adopted" a big stick. Amazing how entertained this made him.



09.03.12 (Monday night) - All three kids are obsessed with knives lately, not sure if this is normal or not, but we're going with it.

09.03.12 (Monday, Labor Day) - Spent the last day before school starts at Huntley Meadows - saw a lot of snakes, frogs, and turtles, but still no muskrat. F made a scavenger hunt for everyone, we almost won (those four leaf clovers are a little tricky, especially in wetlands, as are deer).





09.02.12 (Sunday) - We spent the morning playing Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. Then the kids all played "fairies" in the afternoon. P drew a lion going to school and P drew "the tower of happiness" and "the people of grump."





09.01.12 (Saturday afternoon) - Lazy day. F arted and we grew a cantaloupe.









09.01.12 (Saturday am) - I love taking photos of happy families. It's just so fun.

08.29.12 (Wednesday, Iphone) - Stopping at the Please Touch Museum in Philly on the way home from NYC.







08.28.12 (Tuesday, Iphone) - Swimming in our clothes at Coney Island after spending the morning at the NYC Aquarium.







08.27.12 (Monday) - Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty for Dan's birthday.





08.25.12 (Saturday) - A lazy, overcast day. F wrote a poem and then we set off cola bombs (2 liters of a soft drink + 5 mentos).
